754. The Two Towers (J. R. R. Tolkien)

Synopsis from Amazon:
The Fellowship was scattered. Some were bracing hopelessly for war against the ancient evil of Sauron. Some were contending with the treachery of the wizard Saruman. Only Frodo and Sam were left to take the accursed Ring of Power to be destroyed in Mordor–the dark Kingdom where Sauron was supreme. Their guide was Gollum, deceitful and lust-filled, slave to the corruption of the Ring.

How could you possibly finish reading this book? I tried several times... But in that part where Frodo, Sam and Gollum are alone in the mountains I get so bored that I give up... One of the rare times I like watching the movie rather than reading the book...

There are some parts of the book which I really liked which were left out of the movie so it's kind of a toss-up for me about which is better. I have to say that the passages about the mountains aren't nearly as bad as all the elven poetry which I skipped each time I came across it. :P
