929. Paragon Walk (Anne Perry)

Synopsis from Amazon:
In the posh London street of Paragon Walk, a young woman is brutally raped and murdered. Once again the incomparable team of sleuths, Inspector Thomas Pitt and his young wife, Charlotte, peer beneath the elegant masks of the well-born suspects and reveal that something ugly lurks behind the handsome facades of Paragon Walk -- something that could lead to more scandal, and more murder ....

My rating: 3 stars

Only three stars? I think the Inspector Pitt series very good... What were the book's downs for you?

I think the Inspector Pitt series is solid, like the Morse series. The writing isn't good enough to warrant four stars but the plots are usually good and lead to an enjoyable read.

Never read the Morse series... But I read the Monk series - a man who lost his memories. My favourite Anne Perry's book is that one wich has "Cater street" on the title (I don't know the exact english name). I agree Paragon Walk is not the best book ever, but Cater Street is very good. At least for me... It's the beginning of Pitt's series.

Did you enjoy the Monk series as well?

I only read one book, "A face de um estranho" (I don't know which is the original title, maybe The face of a stranger?) that I think is the first of the series. It's also good... The all amnesia thing is interesting... 4*
